Fifth Annual Open Mic
featuring Chelsea Berry

Chelsea Berry

We are pleased to announce our fifth annual Open Mic on Friday, January 7, 2011. This show will have a special start time of 7:30 pm with doors opening at 7:00 pm. This event gives musicians a chance to perform and try out new and old material on our audience. This year we are limiting performances to musicians only. Each musician will be allowed ten minutes to play. However, should we get the number of performers we had in the past, we will limit those who go on after the feature to a five-minute slot as we wish to give everyone who signs up a chance to perform before the witching hour.

Our featured musician of the evening is Chelsea Berry, a singer-songwriter from the town of Chugiak, Alaska. She has lived and performed around her beautiful home state as well as in Chicago, Nashville, Boston, and, most recently, Cape Ann, Mass. She’s just finished a new original album, Walk with Me, which was released at the House of Blues to a very enthusiastic crowd. Chelsea’s music is deep, earthy, and refreshing. Her vocals are smooth and her lyrics poetic and identifiable to any listener. Her music falls somewhere between Sheryl Crow and Joni Mitchell — with a little Alaskan edge. Chelsea’s set begins at 9:00 pm.

Our past open mics have featured outstanding talents from New England and beyond as well as some very talented performers from the immediate North Shore. This year promises to be no different, so don’t miss out on the fun!
