Susan Werner is an extremely promising singer and songwriter...who writes about changing social patterns from a perspective that is clear eyed and leavened [with humor].

[T]his young Philadelphian sang with a pure supple voice that immediately drew hushed attention," wrote a reviewer for the Boston Herald of Susan Werner.
A performer from early childhood, Werner taught herself guitar and piano. She topped that off with a master's degree in classical voice from Temple University. Susan is at home in all genres: you'll find folk, jazz, and pop styling in her original songs.
Werner notes that her style of songwriting comes from "the cult of the self: the Shawn Colvin School of Songwriting about the rescue of self and defining identity. If I compared the lyrics to poetry, I would say they are like the works of Ann Sexton and Sharon Oldes, and in terms of songwriters, definitely Shawn and to a lesser extent Jonatha Brooke."
Come see her for yourself in the intimate setting of the me&thee coffeehouse!
