about the me&thee |
...a young folkie who sounds just as rough, rootsy, and masculine as the bad boys of the 60s... Moock has a gnarled but pleasing voice and the air of a man who's hitched from coast to coast...

Bad boy singer-songwriter Alastair Moock is bringing his new roots music series, "Pastures of Plenty," to the Me&Thee. Dedicated to "reconciling the divorced American musical traditions of folk, blues, bluegrass and country," the group aims to bridge the gap between the strains of traditional music and re-connect them with contemporary songwriting and attitude. Special guests Rob Laurens, Tim Kelly, Eric Royer, Bob Paluccio, McGregor McGeehee, and Scott Alarik will join him for what Moock promises to be "one hell of a jam session."
As the principal folk music writer for the Boston Globe and correspondent for WBUR's "Here and Now" news program, Scott Alarik has kept his finger on the pulse of the Boston folk scene for many years. Last year he presented Alastair Moock and Laura Risk during our 30th anniversary season. Scott has several albums and CDs to his credit and has appeared at the Me&Thee many times.
