In the last years of the last century (the early 1990s, to be exact) sisters Nerissa and Katryna Nields and Nerissa's boyfriend (now husband) David formed an acoustic folk trio called - yes - the Nields. Within the next few years they added two more Davids (one on bass, one on drums), and grew into an electric quintet. Their original, high-energy folk-(alt)rock music has gained fans of all ages, causing them to put on more than 200 shows a year and release eight albums.
       When you take the boys and the back-up out of the mix, you're left with an acoustic guitar and the exquisitely harmonizing voices of the two lead singers. The sisters' repertory ranges from ancient madrigals to the Nields canon, with gorgeous renditions of Hank Williams and even pop hits from the 70s.
