Stephen Fearing

Drawing on numerous musical influences including contemporary acoustic, traditional folk, Celtic, country, blues, gospel, and jazz, Stephen Fearing creates music that crosses all these genres and more. He absorbed the spirit of Irish music from childhood years in County Cork, while also being influenced by the pop music on the British charts.
Fearing is often compared to Richard Thompson and Sarah McLachlan because of his passionate vocals and progressive folk/pop sound. His finger-style guitar playing and captivating melodies make an impression on audiences wherever he performs.
Fearing has several critically acclaimed recordings. His latest, "Industrial Lullaby," has garnered the most praise of all. The Toronto Globe and Mail refers to the recording as much more than a CD -- it's a "musical event." The Philadelphia Inquirer calls the recording cinematic in scope. "It swings effortlessly between love ballads and social commentary, acoustic musings and electric barn-burners, stark confessionals and multihued arrangements."
